A few days each year when the community — not a panel of experts — decides what proceeds.
Everything the Project does over a year runs toward these few days. The Commons raises the issues. The working groups turn the arguments worth having into plans that can actually be funded and measured. The Summit is where those plans are put in front of the community that will live with them, and where the community says yes, not yet, or no.
What happens there
The year on the record. Every pilot the Foundation funded is reported honestly — including the ones that failed, and what they cost.
Impact group readouts. Each impact group drafts its plan: what it would build, for whom, at what price, measured how.
Authorization. Members vote on which plans carry into the following year. The tally is published with the record.
The next questions. The Summit closes by naming the issues the Commons will spend the next year on.
Who is in the room
Members of the community, first. The worker whose job changed, the parent whose school adopted a tutor, the clinician, the small-town lender, the builder. Researchers and funders attend as participants, not as the authority. The Principles convene it; they do not decide it.
How to be there
Sign the Open Letter and you are on the list. Invitations, dates, and travel details go to that list first — there is nothing else to fill out and nothing to pay yet. Attendance in person will be capped; participation in the vote will not be.
